Why Dimelight
Bar jukebox apps sell credits that change price on busy nights, and sometimes your song never plays. This one keeps the deal simple.
Every coin plays a whole song
Start to finish. If the song is cut off because the app closed, your coin comes back on its own.
The price on the board is the price
No surge pricing, no fractional credits, nobody paying extra to jump ahead of you. Up to nine of your songs wait in line.
No account, no streaming service
Thirty songs are built in. Open it, pick a style, drop a coin. It works in airplane mode.
Nothing to sit through
No ads between songs, no subscription, no sign-up wall.

What's in the machine

One coin, one whole song
The changer lowers the record, the arm swings over and the song plays to the end. The title strip says who made it.

Six styles on chrome keys
Rock 'n' Roll, Swing, Blues, Country, Soul & Funk and Lounge. Tilt your phone and the cabinet turns with you.

The change machine
Three coins at a time, for the smallest amount the store lets anyone charge. Coins never expire.

Line up to nine
Drop several coins and the songs wait their turn. Hold REJECT to end one early, so a stray tap never costs a coin. It keeps playing on the lock screen.

The maker's plate
Tap it for the song credits, the license and the privacy note.
Who's on the records

Nobody watching
Dimelight has no account, no analytics and no ads, and there's no server behind it. Your coins and your last style stay on your phone. Purchases go through Apple or Google, and we never learn who you are. Read the privacy policy.
Real songs, fair coins, nobody watching.
Ask at the counter
Are these the original hits?
No. The jukebox plays 30 recordings by Kevin MacLeod, new pieces written in the styles of the era and shared under Creative Commons. You won't find chart songs here, and we say so up front.
What does a song cost?
Coins come in rolls of three, at the lowest price the App Store and Google Play allow. That works out to about a dime a song. The app shows the exact amount in your currency before you buy.
What if a song gets cut off?
If the app is closed or the phone shuts it down mid-song, the coin goes back in your tray the next time you open Dimelight.
Do coins expire?
Never. They live on your phone, though: if you delete the app, the coins go with it, and the stores can't restore them.
Do I need internet or an account?
No. All songs are inside the app. You only need a connection to buy more coins.
Does it keep playing with the screen off?
Yes. The song keeps going on the lock screen, and you can pause it from there.
